Lisbon Pool Day Passes: Hotel and Rooftop Pools
Looking for a pool in Lisbon without booking a hotel? Compare Lisbon pool day passes, rooftop pools, typical prices and what to check before reserving.

Lisbon can be extremely warm in summer, but finding somewhere to swim in the city centre is not always straightforward. The good news is that several hotels offer pool day passes to non-guests, allowing you to use a rooftop, garden or spa pool without booking an overnight stay.
Availability changes frequently, particularly from June to September, so treat hotel day passes as something to reserve rather than a guaranteed walk-in option.
How much is a pool day pass in Lisbon?
In 2026, public day-pass offers typically start at around 25€ per person and can rise to 50€–100€ for packages that include food, spa access or a more premium pool setting.
The price difference is often less about the size of the pool and more about what is included. A basic pass may give you a sunbed, towel and access for a fixed number of hours. More expensive packages can include breakfast, brunch, drinks, spa facilities or a credit to spend at the hotel.
Lumen Hotel: a useful central option
Lumen Hotel Lisboa has periodically offered a summer pool package that combines breakfast with access to its outdoor pool. It is particularly convenient if you are staying around Marquês de Pombal, Saldanha or Picoas and do not want to travel to the waterfront.
The main limitation is capacity. Hotel pools are designed primarily for guests, so public passes may be restricted to a small number of people each day.

Lisbon Marriott: better for a longer pool day
The Lisbon Marriott is less central for sightseeing but has one of the more substantial outdoor hotel-pool environments in the city. It has offered paid access to non-guests as well as occasional pool-and-brunch packages.
This can make more sense if your priority is spending several hours by a pool rather than combining a quick swim with a day of sightseeing.

Palácio do Governador: pool time in Belém
For visitors already planning a day in Belém, Palácio do Governador is worth checking for current day-pass or spa options. The setting is more polished and works well if you want to combine a relaxed afternoon with nearby attractions such as Jerónimos Monastery, the riverfront and Belém’s museums.
Because packages change, confirm whether outdoor-pool access is included and whether you need to reserve a specific time slot.

What about Lisbon rooftop pools?
Many of Lisbon’s most photogenic rooftop pools are reserved exclusively for hotel guests. This is why searching for “rooftop pool Lisbon” can be misleading: a hotel may have a spectacular pool but no public access.
Before travelling across the city, check three details directly with the hotel: whether non-guests are accepted, what hours the pass covers and whether a sunbed is guaranteed.
Are hotel pool passes worth it?
A pool day pass is most worthwhile on very hot days, during a longer Lisbon stay or when your accommodation has no outdoor space. If you only want to swim for an hour, Lisbon’s municipal pools are generally better value, although they offer a very different experience from a hotel rooftop.
For a couple, a premium pool day can quickly cost as much as a night in a budget hotel, so compare the total price rather than looking only at the headline rate.
When should you book?
July and August are the hardest months for availability, especially on weekends. Reserve in advance where possible and check the cancellation policy in case the weather changes.
Lisbon’s pool day-pass scene is still relatively small, but it is growing. The best option depends on whether you want a central rooftop, a resort-style afternoon or a spa package - and, more than anything, which pools are actually open to non-guests on your dates.
