Advantages: A central pier suits visitors staying around Baixa or Cais do Sodré, and the entry price is lower than the other shared options here.

Limitations: Access to a bar does not mean free drinks. This listing had no activity reviews at our check; confirm capacity, seating and covered space.

Sailing cruise, party boat or dinner cruise?

A sailing cruise puts the emphasis on being on the river, with a smaller deck and a simple midnight toast. It suits travellers who prefer conversation to a dance floor, although music and group size vary. The crew may use the engine, so booking a sailboat does not guarantee sailing under canvas.

A party boat puts music and socialising first. Compare the DJ, passenger capacity, covered space and exact drinks list. An open bar can cover beer, wine and sangria without including every spirit or champagne brand.

A dinner cruise should explicitly include a meal and describe its menu and service. Pizza, cheese boards, cake or a champagne toast do not establish that a seated dinner is provided. If dinner is essential, request the menu and dietary options before booking, or eat ashore before boarding.

Where do New Year’s Eve cruises depart?

Cais do Sodré is the most central departure in this shortlist: Lisboat uses Cais da Ribeira das Naus. It is convenient for Baixa and Chiado, but a central location still needs extra walking time when the waterfront is crowded.

Belém has several different docks. BLOO lists Doca do Bom Sucesso, Gate 3; Royal Marine lists Doca de Belém, Gate 1, near the Monument to the Discoveries. These are separate meeting points. Use the pin on your booking voucher and reconfirm your selected option.

In Alcântara, the DJ boat meets at Doca de Santo Amaro, Gate 3. HYPAFAMILY uses Doca de Alcântara, Gate 1, near the Museu do Oriente. Do not assume that two cruises departing from Alcântara share a marina entrance.

Date and timing: Select 31 December 2026 and confirm that the cruise remains on the river at midnight. Check boarding closure as well as departure and return times.

Total cost: Check whether the displayed amount is per person or for the whole boat. Include extra drinks, catering and transport in your budget.

Food and drinks: Read the exact menu, drink allowance and bar hours. Ask about alcohol-free choices, dietary needs and whether a meal is included.

Comfort and access: Confirm indoor seating, toilets, steps, boarding assistance, age limits and life jackets for children. Bring a warm outer layer and shoes with good grip.

Changes and refunds: Read the final cancellation deadline and the weather policy. Ask what happens if the cruise operates but the city cancels its fireworks. The private listing currently has conflicting refund wording.
